Ilan Pappe on the Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine
Ilan Pappé, born 1954 in Haifa to German-Jewish parents who had fled Nazi persecution, is one of the "New Historians" who have re-examined and hold controversial views of the history of Israel and of Zionism. He is one of the predominant Israeli supporters of the One State Solution where Palestinians and Israelis can live in one state for two people. He is known for his anti-Zionist opinions and his analysis of Zionism in the colonial context. In 2007, Pappé left his position as a senior lecturer of Political Science at the University of Haifa, claiming that he found it "increasingly difficult to live in Israel" with his "unwelcome views and convictions." He is to join the History Department at the University of Exeter in Britain. (Wikipedia)
